JOB TITLE: Case Manager
SUPERVISOR: Case Management Supervisor
STATUS: Salaried/Exempt
JOB SUMMARY: A Case Manager at Fathers New Mexico is responsible for listening to each participating parent and providing substantive ideas and productive feedback on the parent’s choices and actions. Case Managers conduct outreach, prioritizing families with the highest needs. Case Managers are responsible to work with individuals and families from a place of humility, conscientiously pursuing options to meet participants needs. Case Managers must engage professional development and be open to corrections, ideas that challenge and to working as a team member. Case Managers support and embody the mission of Fathers New Mexico and its work with families. A Case Manager maintains positive relationships with other staff, volunteers, clients/participants, professional collaborators and supporters of Fathers New Mexico. A Fathers New Mexico Case Manager willingly brings their expertise and insights to the team, in the spirit of constant improvement for the organization.
Key Accountabilities:
● Support/Guidance/Education of participating parents, with the goal of increasing family health.
● Able to produce: data, reporting, responses to communication, etc., in a timely manner.
● Ambassador of Fathers New Mexico, advocating for dads/families/children and representing Fathers New Mexico in a professional and thoughtful manner.
PRIMARY/ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct individualized support for parents. Responding to referrals and managing engagement with participants. Considering each participant’s stated needs to assess information relevant to identifying other needs and/or areas for growth.
Meeting clients where they are at, sensitive to trauma. Prioritizing the needs of children.
Leading dad’s groups
Conducting participant assessments and researching options for meeting participant needs. Advocating, promoting and encouraging client self-determination.
Function as external representative and spokesperson. PromotingFathers New Mexico to all its constituencies including; collaborative partners, funding sources, participants, political entities; related not-for-profits.
Reflecting the organization’s image and increasing its public recognition. fostering connections to other organizations for expanded effectiveness
Support fundraising. Considering fundraising activities, sharing ideas about fundraising opportunities with management. Identifying potential donors -- individuals, foundations, and corporations.
Programming support. Fully engaging all program evaluation efforts and entering data in a timely manner.
Presenting professionalism, responsibility and respect.
Implementing management policies, procedures and systems in an effective and efficient manner.
All Fathers New Mexico staff are expected to:
1. Support Fathers New Mexico’s ongoing effort to improve services; participate in trainings, regular “check-in” calls, and any organizational effort to develop programming and/or to assess Fathers New Mexico’s work.
2. Develop individual leadership skills and teamwork.
3. Openly identify and communicate observed problems. Fathers New Mexico commits to supporting all employees’ sincere and respectfully communicated efforts to improve the work of Fathers New Mexico.

Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications could include:
● Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work, anthropology, psychology, political science, sociology, or closely related field; and a minimum of 1 year of practical field experience.
● Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work social work, anthropology, psychology, political science, sociology, or closely related field; and a minimum of 3 years of practical field experience.
● Four (4) to ten (10) years progressively responsible experience performing related work.

Management Skills: Proven ability to manage a caseload of diverse individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience.
Communication: Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings including: persuasion and negotiation of conflicts and problems; interpreting documents and government regulations; interacting with forms, and data; analyzing complex written documents; occasionally working irregular hours, and under pressured conditions;
Confidentiality: Case Managers will be exposed to confidential information, disclosure of which would be contrary to the best interest of the agency, the clients, and professional ethics.
Must have;
• valid drivers license
• reliable automobile up to legal standards in NM
• ability to pass criminal background check
• flexibility such that they can be available outside of typical business hours
